APEX / COMPANY & YOUR RIGHTS
Terms of Service
Last updated:
Apex Rise and Apex Athlete Group are trading names of JOHN-X & COMPANY LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16571324.
These terms govern use of Apex Rise. Read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Safety page. Contact details and the registered office are available on Company Information.
Eligibility and accounts
Standard accounts require adults aged 18 or over. Protected Youth Athlete accounts are designed for ages 13–17 with a linked verified guardian and additional privacy, communication and safeguarding controls, but youth enrolment is not currently open. Under-13 accounts are not supported. Read the Youth Athlete Terms and Youth Privacy Notice before guardian participation. Provide accurate identity and birth-date information; never impersonate someone or misrepresent parental or professional authority.
Keep passwords and recovery links confidential, use available two-step verification and contact support promptly about suspected unauthorised access. Athlete, guardian, brand, agent, scout, coach, club/team and organisation tools have different permissions. Administrator roles are assigned by Apex, not available for self-registration.
Our platform role
Apex is a technology and professional-discovery platform. Unless separately agreed in writing, Apex is not your agent, employer, coach, club, lawyer or financial adviser. Apex Athlete Group may provide managed commercial or representation services under separate written agreements.
Discovery, introductions and paid tools do not guarantee sponsorship, representation, employment, selection or sporting success. Users decide whether to pursue connections and enter third-party agreements, and should independently check counterparties, terms, qualifications and legal requirements.
Profiles and sporting information
Only publish information you are entitled to share. Keep sporting performances, disciplines, positions, achievements, career history, teams, competitions, divisions, coaching relationships, representation and brand partnerships accurate. Distinguish self-reported claims from facts verified by a named source. Do not claim an official affiliation or endorsement without authority.
You control the visibility options made available in your account. Public profiles and permitted sporting data may be seen, linked and copied by other people. Use only city or region information, never a residential address or precise private training location. Social-media links take users to third-party services.
What verification means
A verification label identifies the particular information checked at a point in time: for example identity, a result, organisation authority or a coaching qualification. A check is not a guarantee of future behaviour, quality, performance, safety or commercial outcome. Checks may expire, be corrected, suspended or withdrawn when evidence changes.
Provide authentic evidence using the designated private submission flow. Do not place identity documents on a public profile. Misleading verification claims, fabricated results, fraud and impersonation may result in removal and account restrictions.
Your content and intellectual property
You retain rights you hold in your photographs, gallery, highlight reel, text and sporting records. You must have permission from rights holders and people whose rights are affected, including photographers, broadcasters and identifiable participants. Do not upload confidential records or content unlawfully obtained.
You give Apex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transcode, crop, display and deliver your submitted content as needed to operate and secure the service, in accordance with your visibility settings. This includes processing images and delivering highlights through our video provider. It does not transfer ownership or grant an unrelated advertising endorsement.
The licence ends when content is removed from the service, subject to necessary backup expiry, legal obligations, moderation evidence and copies already lawfully shared with recipients. Apex branding, interface and original editorial content remain protected. Contact support with the affected URL, your rights and supporting information for copyright complaints.
Connections, messaging and prohibited conduct
Use connections and private messaging for legitimate sporting and professional purposes. Respect recipients’ decisions and blocks. Do not harass, discriminate, threaten, exploit, stalk, send sexual or illegal content, solicit suspicious fees, spam, evade restrictions, scrape in breach of access controls, introduce malware or attempt unauthorised access.
Report suspicious profiles, messages and opportunities using the reporting tools. Blocking prevents further contact through the controlled flows; it does not erase earlier evidence. Private correspondence must not be published without an appropriate legal basis. Do not use the platform for emergency assistance.
Opportunities and third-party agreements
Sponsorship, ambassador work, appearances, representation, coaching and team opportunities are offered by the identified counterparties. Check the scope, payment, duties, travel arrangements, safeguarding and cancellation terms before agreeing. An application or connection is not a contract or promise of selection.
Apex does not automatically become party to, enforce or guarantee a user agreement. Any separately managed Apex campaign or representation engagement must identify the contracting entity and its own terms. Never provide banking login details or pay a suspicious fee to unlock an opportunity.
Paid subscriptions and Stripe
Where enabled, paid subscriptions are optional. The checkout identifies the plan, currency, total payable including applicable taxes, billing interval and recurring charge before purchase. Only buy for an organisation if you have authority. Paid access does not buy verification, editorial selection or sporting ranking.
Stripe processes payment details. Subscriptions renew for the stated billing interval until cancelled. You can manage renewal using the billing portal or contact support if you cannot access it. Cancelling renewal normally keeps paid access until the paid period ends, after which the account returns to its available free plan. Payment failure may restrict paid features while payment is resolved. Existing data remains subject to the normal access and retention rules.
Consumer statutory rights are unaffected. If you buy as a consumer, you normally have a 14-day cancellation period from entering the service contract. Tell support clearly that you wish to cancel, including your name, account email, plan and purchase date. You may use the cancellation form below but do not have to. Any charge for service supplied during that period must be permitted by law and depend on a valid express request to begin early; these terms alone do not constitute that request.
Cancellation notice: To Apex support (contact on Company Information). I give notice that I cancel my subscription contract. Plan: __. Ordered on: __. Name: __. Account email: __. Address: __. Date: __. Signature only if sent on paper: __.
We will honour applicable refund and remedy rights. Outside statutory rights or an agreed refund, cancelling renewal does not automatically refund a completed billing period. We will provide advance notice of material price changes and explain your options before they take effect.
Moderation, suspension and complaints
Apex may investigate reports, restrict contact, remove content, suspend verification or suspend or close accounts where reasonably necessary to address breaches, illegal activity, fraud, safety risks or legal obligations. Measures should reflect severity and context. Urgent protection may require action before notice. Where appropriate we explain the reason and how to challenge a decision, except where disclosure would compromise safety, an investigation or law.
Contact support with the decision reference and reasons to appeal or complain. An authorised reviewer can consider relevant evidence and corrections. You can request account closure and exercise data rights through account settings or the privacy contact. Closure does not itself determine whether a refund is due or whether evidence must be retained.
Availability, third parties and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service but may need maintenance or changes. We will use reasonable care and skill. External social networks, payment providers and video infrastructure have their own terms and privacy notices. Avoid relying on Apex as the only copy of important records.
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or law. We identify the revision date and give appropriate notice of material changes. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued statutory rights.
Liability and governing law
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory consumer rights. Subject to those protections, we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable consequence of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill; we are not responsible merely because another user fails to deliver a sporting or commercial outcome.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales may hear disputes, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in another court available under applicable law. Contact support first if you would like us to try to resolve an issue.
